PRP is defined as a plasma fraction of autologous blood with the concentration of platelets four to five times above normal. It has been shown to improve regeneration in various tissues with the expression of several cytokines and growth factors. The preparation of PRP is an outpatient procedure that involves a blood draw, preparation of the PRP, and the injection of PRP into the diseased area.
Current clinical applications of platelet-rich plasma in various gynecological disorders:
- In refractory endometrium
- In Premature Ovarian Failure or in woman with low ovarian reserve
- In repeated implantation failure
PRP is a novel therapy that is being tried in such patients
